N2 - The European Association of Urology (EAU) Urological Infections Guidelines Panel has recently published a large two-part systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis (MA) of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the use of antibiotic and nonantibiotic interventions for the prevention of infectious complications related to prostate biopsies (PBs) [1], [2]. The aim of this article is to summarize the available evidence and provide clinicians with practical recommendations on how to reduce infection rates after PB (Fig. 1).
